I was on twitter tonight, (haven't been tweet'n as much as i usually do) and i began to chat with some of the people who follow me. I seen how even in our communication words can be misunderstood. I looked at how we view the word "Christian" and what it really means. The word Christian means "Christ-like" and most of us carry that title around as if we have earned it but haven't. From the standpoint of similarities, we can also attach "title" to men who say they are faithful guys because they have seen that they "could" be, but aren't. Or the woman who says she is not a gossip because she don't "always" talk about other people. Being a Christian is a lifestyle...its something that is carried out daily and not because we call church our home only on Sundays.
We also have the problem of people saying that they don't need church because "God is in my heart". They think that they don't have to be in a place as such to receive God. Although that may be true, its not completely true. God exist everywhere man is but the bible constantly shows us fellowship between like minded people. The bible says, "If you abide in me" (John 15:7). This scripture is longer but the part that stuck out to me was us doing his word and not us doing ours and including him. The bible also stats, "Do not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as some have done" (Hebrews 10:25). We feel that we can take bits and pieces from the bible and live them but the other pieces don't matter. What if you had a car and it was filled with gas but no tires...technically you are prepared to go somewhere but cant because one (or 4 lol) main piece that "gets you there" doesn't exist. If we were to apply all of the bible to our lives and not just take bits and pieces, we wont be so confused on what God has for us. The closer the relationship becomes, the more we are able to hear him. His voice begins to cloud out our own thinking and lead us as we need him to do.
Its crazy because when i started to write this blog, i was going to speak about how a gentle was playing "Her Story" (a song i did, link here http://youtu.be/hjD4VT5UCbQ ) at work. But the blog went a different direction...maybe someone needs to read that. He said he was playing it out loud and after it went off she walked over to him and hugged him when the song went off. He explained to her that its a rapper named "GS" that made it. She then thanked him for playing it and said that she had a similar story. The made my night. I just had to share it because many times the music is heard but not felt and this gives hope that God does reach the heart through this music.
Warning Before Destruction III will be dropping on Friday The 13th. I look forward to God speaking through me, to you. Be Blessed!! #ImDoinJesus
